As a part of Chevron Midstream, Supply and Trading (S&T) operate Chevron's global supply and trading business. S&T is the commercial link to the market for Upstream and Downstream & Chemicals (DS&C).
Commercial Scheduling and Logistics (CS&L) is part of the Supply and Trading organization and is responsible for trading operations for crude, refined products and natural gas, including cost optimization and commercial management across all transportation modes
CS&L applies its knowledge of transportation logistics, to oversee the lifecycle of trade once it has been executed including managing credit, risk, and inventories to maximize the value of enterprise assets and enable the commercial success of Upstream, and Downstream & Chemicals.
The Natural Gas Scheduler supports the CS&L Natural Gas Pipeline team by providing seamless coverage across scheduling desks.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Pipeline Scheduling: Execute nominations and confirmations across intrastate and interstate pipelines, ensuring timely and accurate gas flow. Support emergency response and operational continuity during weekends and holidays.
  • Transportation Optimization: Maximize the use of transportation contracts and storage transactions to support trading and operational goals. Keep informed of and optimize operational costs
  • System Balancing: Monitor and manage daily imbalances, ensuring compliance with operational balancing agreements (OBAs). Maintain and update internal systems (e.g., Endur) with accurate volume data and trade flows.
  • Inventory Management: Track physical inventory positions and reconcile scheduled vs. actual volumes.
  • Market Coordination: Communicate with pipeline operators, traders, and third-party companies to manage logistics and optimize earnings. Work closely with traders to manage physical inventory positions and recommend trade activity based on interactions with third parties
  • Curtailment Monitoring: Use pipeline electronic bulletin boards (EBBs) to track curtailments and operational issues, and relay critical information to trading teams.
  • End-of-Month Close: Prepare accurate and timely accounting for month-end close processes.
  • Optimization: Support optimization initiatives and best practices, including advancing digital initiatives and process improvements
  • Champion incident-free operations and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of natural gas scheduling experience or 3+ years of experience in pipeline scheduling or logistics within Upstream, Midstream, or Downstream operationsProficiency with Endur (energy trading and risk management program) and/or other relative trade capture systems
  • Demonstrated experience in gas scheduling systems and regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstrated communication, influencing stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team
  • Demonstrated organizing and planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data to draw valid conclusions, identify root causes and solve problemswith a track record of delivering business results
  • Familiarity with EBBs of major pipelines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft tools
  • Digital mindset and innovative thinker

  • This is a natural gas scheduler position based inHouston
  • On-call availability for evening, weekend and holiday scheduling requirements
