Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Solution Architect - DevOps Pipeline through 08/10/2026 at 11:59 p.m. (CST).
The DevOps Solution Architect is responsible for designing and delivering scalable, secure, and enterprise-aligned CI/CD and developer platform solutions. This role partners with business partners, engineering, and cyber security teams to translate business needs into technical architectures and ensures solutions align with Chevron's enterprise standards, cloud strategy, and DevOps modernization objectives.
This position plays a key role in advancing enterprise capabilities including GitHub Enterprise adoption, pipeline standardization, and open-source software governance. You will ensure that architecture of existing solutions are kept updated and evergreen to meet evolving business needs and compliance or security requirements. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will translate complex technical concepts into business terms for a wide range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Designing and supporting the DevOps CICD Pipeline and Enterprise development and deployments at a large enterprise scale.
  • Own end-to-end architecture for CI/CD and developer platform solutions
  • Design and standardize enterprise pipeline patterns (build, test, deploy, artifact management)
  • Lead AI efforts to improve the pipeline capabilities and enable developer productivity.
  • Lead architecture decisions for next generation Development Platforms, pipeline modernization, and toolchain integrations
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, security controls, and cloud strategy
  • Partner with Product Owners, Technical Leads, and Cyber teams to deliver compliant and scalable solutions
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technologies for performance, scalability, and maintainability
  • Collaborate with other Architects by bringing up cross-functional dependencies and requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, vulnerabilities, and technical debt
  • Lead architecture reviews and ensure compliance with enterprise governance processes
  • Support cost analysis, feasibility assessments, and implementation planning
  • Ability to work effectively with Vendors and influence vendor product direction to achieve business outcomes.
  • Evaluate AI acceleration opportunities and integrations into the CICD pipeline.
  • Strong partnerships and understanding of the latest Cyber Security requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8+ years' experience in software development and solution architecture.
  • A minimum of 3+ years in Solution Architecture or senior technical leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing enterprise-level services or platforms intended for use by other developers and teams, as opposed to consumer-facing applications.
  • Skilled in designing and implementing cloud-native solutions using a wide stack of Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, among others.
  • Skilled in implementing various architecture styles, design patterns and best practices for software development.
  • Skilled in evaluating technology and product options, and modern trade-off analysis for various architecture and design choices.
  • Skilled in ability to design and implement security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • GitHub Enterprise expertise at scale for a large number of repositories and cross-organizational dependencies.
  • Experience with Oil and Gas workflows and Industry.
  • Has a cloud first and agile mindset.
  • Expertise use complex infrastructure - ideally with Ansible.
  • Full Application Stack capabilities.
  • Experience with application inventory management and infrastructure governance - preferably with ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with finOps processes and cost recovery models. Particularly AI Tokenization usage.
