Job description

Specialty Operations business unit is accepting online applications for the position of Biodiesel Operator located in Seneca, Illinois, through July 16th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

This position performs biodiesel operational functions in order to benefit internal and external customers of Chevron-Renewable Energy Group ensuring quality biodiesel while maintaining clean, safe, and well-kept facilities.

This is a night shift role.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to operate the biodiesel master computer system. This includes operations of the main master control, and process production system along with recording data and generating system reports on a timely basis

  • Perform various quality control functions on oil, biodiesel, glycerin, fatty acid, and water, visual inspection of all types of inventories, measuring physical inventory on a periodic basis

  • Ability to perform all types of general facility maintenance and housekeeping, including equipment inspection, repairs, adjustments, and monitoring throughout the facility

  • Assist with overseeing the production in the biodiesel manufacturing plant

  • Learn equipment maintenance of all mechanical operations at the facility

  • Assist with biodiesel production to meet customer and intra-company demand in the most efficient manner

  • Monitor and continually improve quality control in all aspects of biodiesel operation

  • Make recommendations on improving production efficiency at the facilities

  • Maintain an acceptable plant appearance (neat and clean) for potential and existing Chevron-Renewable Energy Group customers

  • Follow all safety guidelines regulated by Chevron-Renewable Energy Group, OSHA, or other regulatory agencies.

  • Serve on Chevron-Renewable Energy Group safety committee and conduct regular biodiesel department safety meetings

  • Schedule and maintain housekeeping, including maintaining a clean, well-kept appearance in the facility, outside grounds, and equipment

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Must possess a TWIC card or able to obtain one.

  • 6-12 months general work experience preferred. Previous chemical processing or related experience preferred.

  • General knowledge of computers, basic mechanical and electrical skills, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Process Operations Technician Program

Relocation Options:

Relocation will not be considered.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
