Essential Job Functions:

  • Under general supervision, independently performs non-routine laboratory reactions and analyses, documents procedures including SOP's, performs calculations, and maintains documentation via lab notebooks and other record keeping.
  • Requires familiarity with the techniques, equipment, processes and procedures of assigned laboratory and the area supported (e.g., applications, quality control, research, development, etc.) and any applicable company and regulatory requirements (e.g., good manufacturing practices, good laboratory practices, occupational safety and health, etc.).
  • May perform more complex and investigational procedures or assist in troubleshooting or analysis of equipment, methods, and procedures under supervision. Utilizes computer technology for data entry/retrieval and calculations.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Requires ability to operate a wide variety of small hand tools. Some degree of lifting and heavy work is common with the daily moving of equipment, machinery, samples and supplies.
  • Requires the knowledge of and the ability to operate a wide variety of standard lab and testing equipment.
  • Work is often carried out in teams with chemists and other technicians.
  • May train other laboratory technicians.

Educational Qualifications: Requires knowledge to include high school level, or college chemistry courses. College degree is preferred.

Experience: In addition to the above educational qualifications, must have at least 3 years minimum lab experience. This is not a Perfumery Assistant or Perfumery Lab Tech role - this role is typically found in QC, Applications, Research, etc.

Competencies: Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines, such as a computer and keyboard, calculator, photocopier, telephone, etc. Some degree of lifting and heavy work is common with the daily moving of equipment, machinery, samples and supplies.
