Job description

Job Title: Warehouse Manager

Job Summary: The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the safety, security, and productivity at our Front Royal, VA Manufacturing site. The role builds a vision and drives a culture of safety and operational excellence within the strategy of the site partnering with other production departments, logistics and supply chain to achieve delivery of our product to key customers. This position reports to the Front Royal Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities: Direct Management responsibility for all team members in the warehouse. Priority of the role is to manage the team and safely execute shipment for our customers to meet their needs. The role is accountable for the performance of the warehouse measured through key productivity, safety, financial and customer metrics.
  • Overall responsibility for the safe, timely and accurate shipment of all customer orders and consignment orders placed.
  • Manage inventory in the warehouse to standard and plan.
  • Ensure compliance with Axalta and local safety requirements including forklift driver certification and wearing of proper PPE.
  • Operational excellence through identification of problems that impede service or add unnecessary cost to the operation. Design improvement programs and work with cross functional teams to implement solutions.
  • Implement work process best practices and supporting tools and staffing model, to manage total cost vs. budget at target service level.
  • Ensure the successful assimilation of SAP S/4 Hana WM and TM modules at the site by leading proper data accuracy work, testing and training of the site team.
  • Support sales goals by delivering and improving the service provided to our customers in a profitable manner. Directly and through delegation answer customer questions and resolve complaints.
  • Set goals and objectives for site performance in line with business goals. Monitor a variety of productivity metrics and design and implement plans to ensure successful attainment of goals. Ensure all visual boards are up to date with productivity metrics as well as quality and EHS metrics.
  • Conduct root cause analysis where required for service failure and identify/implement corrective actions.
  • Manage and lead the team to include regular performance reviews, employee training, safety training; resolving issues with support from Front Royal Leadership team and Global Logistics teams.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma/GED required with Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in the warehousing/logistics industry.
  • Coatings or chemical industry experience is a plus.
  • 3 years of experience leading production or warehouse operations.
  • Ability to understand, track and report on key financial indicators tied to the warehouse
  • Computer systems knowledge (SAP, Outlook, Microsoft Office)
  • Strong understanding and experience with warehousing, transportation, and logistics.
  • Knowledge of handling hazardous materials properly.

The expected compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $160,000 USD annually.
