Job description

As a Water Treatment System Operator you'll help keep our water clean, safe, and flowing.

In this hands-on role, you'll assist with the installation, operation, and maintenance of advanced water treatment systems across job sites - supporting everything from construction to environmental compliance. No two days are the same, and you'll gain real-world experience in logistics, equipment handling, and system monitoring.

Position Summary

Perform various support functions associated with Water Treatment System Installation and Operation. Assist with coordination of material and equipment transport, staging, installation, operation, service, QC, and around the clock system observation. Perform material handling, site cleaning and maintenance, daily logs and other related supervised tasks.

Role Responsibilities

Level 3 -Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a Water Treatment System watchmen during required on-site shift. Watchmen shifts can be anytime during weekdays, weeknights, weekends and holidays.

  • Independently watch and monitor treatment system operation. Contact supervisor if any system issues are observed.

  • Work with team to mobilize and demobilize treatment systems.

  • Load equipment and materials onto transport vehicles.

  • Receive equipment and materials on site or at RK yard.

  • Stage, set, and install treatment system materials and equipment.

  • Change out bag filters and dispose thereof.

  • Perform site clean-up and maintenance activities.

  • Perform QC inspections and fill out QC forms

  • Perform equipment cleaning and maintenance activities

  • Perform additional related duties and assignments per supervisor direction.

  • Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors or other handling equipment to move material.

  • Coordinate and perform shipment loading and complete required paperwork.

  • May assist in training new Treatment System Operator personnel and provide assistance to other employees.

  • May require delivering material to jobsites as needed; acceptable Motor Vehicle Report required for this task.

Level 2 - Additional Responsibilities:

  • Receive, handle, and stage treatment chemicals.

  • Set-up chemical injection equipment and systems.

  • Inspect and record system operational information on daily logs.

Level 1 - Additional Responsibilities:

  • Operate treatment system equipment, valves, backwash valves, pumps, etc.

  • Perform chemical handling and refilling tasks with proper PPE.

  • Perform chemical parameter testing and documentation of results on daily logs.

  • Provide system troubleshooting by supervisor direction.

  • Mobilize, set-up, breakdown, demobilize treatment systems with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Receives direct supervision.

  • Performs technical responsibilities.

  • Work is generally structured or recurring.

  • Objectives based on established guidelines, processes and operating procedures.

  • Relevant past experience is not necessarily required.

  • Entry-level position.

Minimum Physical Requirements and Accountability

  • Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.

  • Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.

  • Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
