Job description

Reports to: Shift Supervisor

These jobs require some moderate/heavy lifting. Optima is a 24-hour operation; thus, candidates must be able and willing to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays. A High School diploma/GED and math skills are required. Work as directed by the Shift Supervisor, including primarily:

• Setting up pumps, hoses, etc. for use

• Setting up reactors, tanks, etc. for use

• Climbing into reactors and tanks to clean and inspect them

• Lifting bags of raw materials (20 to 50 lbs. each)

• Recording data on batch sheets, etc.…

• Working 12-hour shifts, sometimes at nights and weekends

• Working outside in the elements year round

• Pumping and general handling of chemicals (some toxic, flammable, corrosive)

• Wearing protective equipment (suits, respirators, gloves, etc.…)

• Moving material containers using lift devices as well as limited physical adjustments by hand with appropriate support.

• Filling of containers of various sizes

• Pressurizing, pulling vacuum, heating, and cooling of equipment as needed

• Loading and unloading of tanker truck by pressure or pump.

• Other general plant maintenance and cleanup as directed.

• Maintain a neat and clean working environment.

• Stay Clean Shaved for full face respirator usage.

• Follow all procedures and standards.

• Report to work on time as scheduled.

• Progress through the operator Area qualifying examines within designated timeline.

• Training other employees.

• Follow instruction via supervisors/ assistant Supervisors.
