Job Title: Materials & Chemical Lab Technician

Pay Rate: $25/HR

Duration: 6 months

Location: Louisville, KY

Shift: 1st Shift

This position is for an international manufacturer of specialty materials.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Materials & Chemical Lab Technician to support quality control and product testing in a fast-paced manufacturing/laboratory environment. This role is responsible for performing routine and advanced testing on raw materials and finished products, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.

  • Perform physical and chemical testing on materials (e.g., adhesives, polymers, coatings, or related products)
  • Prepare samples and conduct lab tests following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., viscometers, tensile testers, pH meters, ovens, etc.)
  • Accurately record, analyze, and report test data in lab systems or databases
  • Support quality control (QC) processes and assist with investigations of non-conforming materials
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
  • Assist in calibration, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of lab instruments
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and R&D teams as needed

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory, QC, or materials testing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with chemical handling and lab safety practices
  • Experience with lab testing methods and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, data entry, LIMS/SAP a plus)
