Waste Services

VLS Waste Services provides customized waste processing solutions for hazardous and non-hazardous industrial and commercial waste, including landfill diversion and sustainability programs, solidification of liquid waste, recycling, wastewater treatment, and waste sequestration.

Railcar Services

VLS Railcar Cleaning and Repair Services division provides specialty cleaning services for difficult-to-clean products, including chemicals, hardened materials, and pressurized gases, and comprehensive repair services for certified full-service repairs, tank car qualifications, and maintenance.

Marine Services

VLS Marine Services division offers state-of-the-art barge cleaning, repair, and gas-free facilities for various chemical solvents and downstream petroleum products.

This position is responsible for ensuring the generation of accurate, timely and cost-effective analytical data used to support environmental decision making. Responsible for QA/QC of all inbound and outbound wastes. Also performs routine calibration checks on lab equipment. Maintains databases of all materials tested.

1. Ability to perform analysis and routine sample preparation for a variety of tests to include: PH ,Bench test water treatment , Total Halogens ,Flash Point, PCB analysis, Metals testing, BS&W analysis,Solvent Scan, and BTU
2. Enter completed analysis into database depending upon what type of waste tested (i.e. drums, bulk, outgoing, etc.). The database is an Access function.
3. Routine calibrations on: pH meter, Scale
4. Calibration checks of all machines to include scales, pH meter, microcoulometers, GC, GC/MS, Flash Point Testers, ICP for metals analysis, Calorimeter
5. Print lab analysis upon request
6. Be able to adequately perform Proficiency Test (PTs) to demonstrate ability to perform required laboratory analysis.
7. Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
8. Ensure that work area is clean, secure and well maintained
