Koch Finance is seeking a motivated and self-driven Senior Accountant to join our Payroll and Benefits team. This role creates value through excellence in business partnering, financial stewardship and transforming how we work. This role will be responsible for components of accounting and reporting of US payroll and benefits.
Our Team
The Koch Finance US Payroll & Benefits Accounting team supports the financial integrity of payroll, employee benefits, and related accounting processes across the organization. Our team brings together analytical problem-solving, customer focus, and cross-functional collaboration to drive accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence, while continuing to look for ways to improve processes and deliver more value to the business.
What You Will Do
  • Ensure accurate accounting of payroll and benefits activity within the general ledger.
  • Maintain complete and timely balance sheet reconciliations and support effective internal financial controls.
  • Analyze payroll and benefits activity to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead workstreams and drive initiatives forward, including in areas of ambiguity or evolving requirements.
  • Manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder needs while maintaining accuracy and accountability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business teams and other capabilities, to support business initiatives and provide financial insights.
  • Build team knowledge and capability by documenting processes, sharing insights, and providing peer support.
  • Drive process transformation by challenging the status quo and leveraging technology, automation, and AI solutions to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and create greater value.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive work forward with limited direction.
  • Strong analytical capability including identifying issues, evaluating data, and summarizing key insights.
  • Experience communicating and summarizing complex accounting topics to team members and leadership.
  • Experience collaborating with others while building and maintaining trusted partnerships.
  • Experience transforming processes - identifying gaps and redesigning how work gets done, including through automation or technology.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365, including advanced Excel skills.

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience leading projects, coordinating work across stakeholders, or mentoring peers.
  • Experience supporting unclaimed property, cash accounting, payroll, or benefits accounting activities.
  • Experience in monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, or year-end audit processes.
  • Experience supporting benefit audits.
  • Experience using FSM, OneStream, or other ERP/consolidation systems.
