Job Summary: The Sous Chef at The Center at Waterfront plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, nutritious, and appealing meals to our residents. Working closely with the Executive Chef, this position assists in leading kitchen operations, ensuring culinary excellence, strict adherence to dietary guidelines, and maintaining a safe, sanitary, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, possess strong leadership skills, and have a compassionate understanding of the unique dietary needs of a skilled nursing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory control.
  • Oversee daily meal production, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all therapeutic diet orders, resident preferences, and allergy restrictions.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety (HACCP, local health codes) in the kitchen.
