Job description

Did someone say "Cheese!?" It's nice to "Meat" you! Gary's Wine & Marketplace is a well-known family-run business in Bernardsville. We've been in business since 1987! We sell wine, beer, spirits, cheese, meats, and other gourmet food delicacies.

Not an expert in cheese and gourmet foods? We can train you!! We offer a positive, friendly work environment. If you love food and being part of a team, this position could be a great fit for you. Gary's is a great place to begin a career in the world of food & specialty grocery.

We are seeking someone who is hard-working and has a positive attitude. If you perform well in this role, there is plenty of room for growth (e.g., becoming a Gourmet Team Lead, etc.).

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Using a thorough knowledge of our gourmet items, assist guests in the selection and pairing of cheeses with wine, beer, and spirits
  • Assist guests with the selection of gourmet items for gift baskets
  • Keep abreast of knowledge and trends in gourmet items.
  • Ensuring the rotation of gourmet stock and removing expired items from shelves and displays.

Requirements

  • A strong sense of customer service
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Basic computer skills
