Mechanical Assembler (2nd Shift, Full-Time)
$19.00-$23.00/hour + $1.50/hour Shift Premium
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 2:00pm-12:00am
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Mechanical Assembler will assemble, test and/or paint various types of hydraulic cylinders, swivels and/or components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Review the supervisor's build list, obtain shop packets and review packet contents.
2. Check system for location of parts and retrieve.
3. Check print for proper assembly of the required components.
4. Review the work instruction, print and "J"/customer specifications for proper assembly techniques.
5. Assemble product per items number 3 and 4 above.
6. Contact the proper personnel when there are discrepancies between parts and prints.
7. Set up and use torquer for assembly or disassembly of product.
8. Set-up the appropriate test stand to properly test assembled product.
9. Conduct final testing and record on the correct "test log".
10. Report any shortages to the proper personnel.
11. Wash assembled product as required.
12. Maintain identification of all components during the assembly process.
MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with ongoing continuous improvement efforts.
2. Take cylinders/swivels off- line and pre-package for shipment.
3. Perform other duties as assigned; material handling, shot blasting, parts washing, janitorial, cylinder assembly-test-paint and product packaging.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
1. Must be able to read blue print.
2. Possess organizational skills.
3. Ability to work alone as well as with others.
4. Self-starter with the ability to take on multiple projects.
5. Skilled in establishing priorities and managing workload on a daily basis.
