Job description

Mountain High Appliance | Denver, CO Reports To: Store Manager Job Type: Full-Time | In-Person Pay: $50,000 – $100,000 per year (Base + Commission)

Schedule: Sunday 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Monday – Thursday 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM | Friday & Saturday OFF

About Mountain High Appliance

Locally owned and operated since 1993, Mountain High Appliance is Colorado's most complete appliance source, offering every major appliance line as well as in-house delivery and professional installation. With five showrooms across the state and a best-in-class selection featuring over 250 live appliances across more than 20 inspiring kitchen displays, we've built our reputation on doing things right — before, during, and after the sale.

About the Role

As Mountain High Appliance's Online Sales Representative, you'll be the first point of contact for customers who reach us through our website — whether they're submitting a quote request, starting a chat, or calling in for the first time. Your job is to turn that digital interest into a real conversation, and that conversation into a sale.

This is not a passive order-taking role. You'll be expected to engage customers proactively, understand their needs, and guide them toward a decision — whether that's closing the sale online, bringing them into the showroom, or connecting them with the right salesperson. When you're not working online inquiries, you'll be on the floor serving walk-in customers alongside our sales team.

If you're someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment, communicates confidently in writing and on the phone, and knows how to move a customer from interest to commitment — this role was built for you!

What You'll Do

Online Sales & Lead Conversion

  • Monitor and respond to all incoming website chats, quote requests, and online inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Engage customers through written chat with the same consultative approach used on the showroom floor — ask the right questions, understand their needs, and recommend the right products.
  • Follow up on open quotes and unresolved online inquiries to keep leads warm and move them toward a decision.
  • Convert online interest into showroom visits, phone consultations, or direct sales — whichever path best serves the customer and closes the deal.
  • Maintain accurate records of all online interactions, quotes, and follow-ups in NetSuite.

Inbound Phone Sales

  • Receive routed inbound sales calls from the front desk and provide product guidance, pricing, and availability information.
  • Qualify inbound callers and route complex inquiries to the appropriate showroom salesperson when needed.
  • Follow up on phone-based quotes and inquiries to drive conversion.

Showroom Sales

  • Rotate into the walk-in customer queue when not actively managing online or phone inquiries.
  • Provide the same high-touch, consultative sales experience on the floor as you do online.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on shared customers and complex orders.

Product Knowledge & Operations

  • Maintain current knowledge of product lines, features, availability, lead times, and promotions so you can advise customers confidently across all channels.
  • Process transactions accurately in NetSuite, including quotes, sales, returns, and exchanges.
  • Optimize warranty, financing, and accessory opportunities where appropriate.
  • Partner with operations and inside sales to ensure smooth order handoffs and customer follow-through.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Previous sales experience — retail, showroom, inside sales, or a customer-facing environment where closing was part of the role.
  • Strong written communication skills — you can build rapport, convey expertise, and guide a customer toward a decision through text-based chat without losing them.
  • Comfortable on the phone — confident, warm, and able to qualify and convert inbound callers.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple open conversations and follow-ups simultaneously without losing track.
  • Comfortable with commission-based compensation and motivated by performance-basedearning.
  • Proficient with basic computer tools and able to navigate multiple platforms simultaneously.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to work on-site at our Denver, CO location.

Preferred

  • Experience in live chat sales, e-commerce, or digital customer engagement.
  • Background in appliance, home furnishings, kitchen/bath, or luxury retail.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP/CRM platforms.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily seated work managing online and phone inquiries, with periods of standing and walking when on the showroom floor.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay:$50,000 – $100,000/year
  • Schedule: Sunday 12:00PM - 5:00PM | Monday - Thursday 9:00AM - 5:30PM | Friday & Saturday OFF
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Flexible spending account
  • Paid time off
  • Employee discount
