Job description

HIM Chart Completion Specialist

The HIM Chart Completion Specialist analyzes patient medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy and coordinates the suspension process when deficiencies are found. In this role you will monitors assigned work queues and other system functions related to chart completion, preps and scans and indexes documents to appropriate document type within the electronic medical record system as needed.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-4:30
  • Perform deficiency analysis in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical staff Rules and Regulations/Bylaws, assigns deficiencies in the electronic health record to ensure timely, accurate completion and integrity of the medical record.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise of the electronic health record, document imaging application, and HIM work queues.
  • Leverage your knowledge with organization electronic health records, required documentation, and information update processes.
  • Maintain and provide guidance related to administrative deficiency work queues; documents and escalate trends and assignments in the queues because of user error or incorrect workflow to HIM leadership.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to clinicians regarding missing documentation and trends related to timely, accurate, deficiency completion.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma/GED - Required
  • 1 year Healthcare Setting - Preferred
  • 1 year Electronic Health Record (EHR) Document Imaging - Preferred
  • 1 year Medical Record Analysis Experience - Preferred
