Chapter Director information

What are Chapter Directors?

Chapter Directors are leaders responsible for overseeing and managing a branch or local chapter of a larger organization, such as a nonprofit, association, or professional group. Their primary duties include coordinating chapter activities, managing volunteers or staff, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, and serving as the main point of contact between the chapter and the parent organization. They often handle budgeting, event planning, community outreach, and reporting. Effective Chapter Directors possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to help their chapters grow and achieve their goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Chapter Director, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Chapter Director, you need strong leadership, organizational management, and strategic planning skills, often supported by experience in nonprofit or association management. Familiarity with CRM systems, budgeting tools, and event management software is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and motivational abilities help foster member engagement and team cohesion. These skills and qualities are essential for driving chapter growth, ensuring operational excellence, and effectively representing the organization’s mission.

How does a Chapter Director typically collaborate with national leadership and local team members?

A Chapter Director serves as the primary liaison between the local chapter and the national organization, ensuring alignment on strategic goals and initiatives. This role involves frequent communication with national leadership to report on chapter progress, share local insights, and implement organizational policies. At the local level, the Chapter Director leads a team of staff and volunteers, delegating responsibilities, fostering a collaborative culture, and resolving any issues that arise. Effective collaboration across these groups is essential for maintaining organizational consistency and achieving both local and national objectives.

Job description

Director of Sales

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico (in-office / on-site required)

Reports to: CEO/Owner

Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt

About COPS Global

COPS Global is a New Mexico-based commercial security firm serving businesses, properties, and organizations across the state. Our team of over 40 licensed officers protects commercial properties, mixed-use retail, community organizations, multifamily housing, and public-facing events throughout Albuquerque and greater New Mexico.

Our operational leadership brings decades of federal, state, municipal, and military security experience - including former APD command staff, retired federal Marshals, and certified crisis-intervention trainers. Our officers meet or exceed New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department Level 2 and Level 3 standards.

We are growing, and we are hiring a Director of Sales to lead our next chapter.

The Opportunity

The Director of Sales owns new commercial revenue for COPS Global. You will develop and execute a go-to-market strategy that grows our current book across commercial property management, community organizations, mixed-use retail, and events - and opens new verticals we intend to move into next, including healthcare systems, school districts, universities, and corporate campuses.

This is a builder role. You will not inherit a large book of business. You will inherit a strong operational reputation, an experienced leadership team, a professionalized proposal library, a growing brand presence, and the direct support of the CEO. You will build the pipeline, own the close, and set the sales function up to scale.

Executive Protection services are within your scope as our EP division comes online.

What You Will Own

  • New logo acquisition across our current verticals (commercial property, community organizations, mixed-use retail, multifamily, events) and expansion into healthcare, education, and corporate campus verticals
  • Full pipeline management from prospecting through close
  • Pricing strategy and deal structuring within CEO-approved parameters
  • Account expansion within the accounts you close
  • Sales process and CRM discipline (COPS uses HubSpot)
  • Sales reporting and forecasting to the CEO
  • Representation of COPS Global at industry events, chambers, and target-account networking
  • Cross-functional coordination with Operations, Compliance, and Executive Protection

Required

  • 3+ years of B2B sales experience with a documented track record of new-business generation
  • Proven ability to prospect, qualify, and close deals with mid-market and enterprise commercial buyers
  • Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to executive-level decision-makers
  • CRM discipline (HubSpot, Salesforce, or comparable)
  • Practical working fluency with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or equivalent) for sales work - prospecting research, outreach drafting, account planning, meeting prep. You do not need to be an expert. You do need to be actively using these tools in your current workflow, not just "aware of them." We will teach our specific stack; you bring the muscle memory.
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check consistent with commercial security industry standards
  • Currently residing in the Albuquerque metro area or willing to relocate at your own expense before start date

Preferred

  • Prior sales experience in commercial security, staffing services, facility services, or related B2B services
  • Established relationships with New Mexico commercial property managers, healthcare procurement teams, education procurement teams, or corporate real estate teams
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Prior experience opening new verticals or geographies

Compensation

  • Commission on net-new accounts closed by this role: 5% of Year 1 gross contract value
  • Renewal and expansion commission on those same net-new accounts: 2% of Year 2 gross contract value and on expansions within the same accounts
  • Commission does not apply to accounts existing prior to this role's start date
  • No cap on commission

Benefits

  • Health insurance
  • Dental and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Career growth in a founder-led, growing New Mexico company
