Garrett supplies technology to nearly all major automakers in addition to the global aftermarket under the Garrett brand name. As a result, unlike many other OEM or supplier organizations, Garrett Advancing Motion has visibility across a broad range of OEM's and Tier 1 suppliers.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Performance Aftermarket Sales Manager to join our team in Torrance, California. This high-impact role is a key member of the North American Aftermarket Sales Team, responsible for driving commercial success across Garrett's performance aftermarket business and strategic accounts.
The role focuses on sustainable revenue and margin growth across assigned OEM performance customers, aftermarket distributors, and emerging channels-while actively identifying and developing new business opportunities. This position plays a critical role in shaping aftermarket strategy, strengthening channel performance, and expanding Garrett's performance market presence across North America.
The ideal candidate is a structured, analytical sales leader with strong strategic planning capabilities and a deep understanding of omni-channel sales, sell-in/sell-out dynamics, inventory health, and event-driven marketing. This role offers the opportunity to influence Garrett's aftermarket strategy, working closely with the NA Sales Director, global stakeholders, and a diverse network of external partners.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Sales and Business Development
    • Drive Revenue, Margin, and Product Mix Growth: Own performance aftermarket sales results by developing and executing strategic commercial plans with OEM performance customers and aftermarket distributors.
    • Expand Market Presence: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through channel development, OEM account expansion, and acquisition of new customers.
    • Develop Performance Business Models: Shape and evolve performance aftermarket business models, including pricing, promotion, training, and vertical strategies to deliver sustainable growth.
    • Deliver Market Intelligence: Provide accurate sales forecasts, market insights, and competitive intelligence to key stakeholders-including NA Sales Director, Product Management, Marketing, and Demand Planning-to support data-driven decisions.
  • Account Management
    • Set Strategic Customer Objectives: Establish annual customer targets, development plans, and commercial programs aligned with broader business goals.
    • Drive Channel Performance: Monitor distributor and OEM performance metrics, identify underperforming accounts, and develop and execute corrective action and recovery plans.
    • Inventory & Commercial Health: Partner with customers to optimize inventory turnover, stocking strategies, and purchase order cadence in support of revenue growth and margin objectives.
    • Champion Customer Satisfaction: Lead cross-functional and global coordination on customer issues, supplier scorecards, and performance metrics; ensure issues are resolved effectively and sustainably.
    • Ensure Operational Excellence: Collaborate with Customer Support teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of parts while maintaining high service levels.
    • Deliver Financial Results: Ensure achievement of Annual Operating Plan (AOP), sales forecasts, gross margin targets, and accounts receivable objectives through proactive commercial oversight.
  • Marketing
    • Amplify Brand & Sales Impact: Partner with Marketing to design and execute campaigns that strengthen brand equity and drive demand across performance verticals and customer segments.
    • Field Activation & Events: Represent Garrett at distributor, performance, racing, and industry events-including occasional weekend engagements-to expand Tier 2 customer engagement, enhance field presence, and support pipeline development.
    • New Product Introduction: Support new product launches with go-to-market strategies, training, and promotional plans to meet business plan targets.

Basic Qualifications:
  • University bachelor's degree required, preferably in a business / commercial discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial sales or business development roles, including:
    • Proven track record of developing accounts and executing sales strategies/tactics to meet business objectives.
    • Channel development experience preferred within automotive aftermarket.
    • Automotive aftermarket experience strongly preferred.\Experience working within international environments (multicultural) as well as complex matrix organizations.
  • Accomplishments include:
    • Developed and executed channel development strategies across multiple markets and/or verticals.
    • Led distribution network expansion through customer prospecting, value proposition development, and market potential analysis.
    • Improved network performance and dealer quality through tailored training programs, marketing initiatives, and merchandising support.

Pay Range
The salary range for this role is between $92,300 and $140,000.
*Note that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, education, training, and/or experience.
In addition to the annual base salary this role offers the below:
  • Management Incentive Plan: Subject to the eligibility requirements and the rules set out in the Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) in place from time to time, you are eligible to participate in the SIP program, which shall provide you on an annual basis, with an annual target bonus award opportunity equal to (30%) of your base salary. Additional details will be shared through the new hire process.

  • 401 (K) Retirement Plan: Garrett also provides a 401(k) Retirement Plan through Fidelity with pre-tax, post-tax and ROTH contribution options. There may be an annual discretionary match provided by Garrett based on company performance.
