Channel Partner Account Manager information

What is a channel partner account manager?

A Channel Partner Account Manager is a professional responsible for managing relationships between a company and its external partners, such as resellers, distributors, or agencies. Their main goal is to drive sales and revenue growth through these partners by providing support, training, and resources. They also develop joint business plans, set mutual goals, and ensure partners are aligned with the company's strategies. This role involves frequent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration to maximize the success of both the company and its partners.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a channel partner account manager?

To thrive as a Channel Partner Account Manager, you need strong sales acumen, relationship management skills, and a solid understanding of channel strategy, often supported by a degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce, channel management platforms, and certifications in sales or partner management are typically required. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills help you build trust and drive success with partners. These abilities are crucial for fostering long-term partnerships, maximizing revenue, and ensuring mutual growth in a competitive market.

What are some common challenges channel partner account managers face when managing multiple partner relationships?

Channel Partner Account Managers often juggle several partner accounts simultaneously, which can lead to challenges in balancing priorities and ensuring consistent communication. Each partner may have different goals, sales processes, and support needs, requiring the manager to tailor their approach for each relationship. Staying aligned with both internal sales teams and external partners, while keeping up with product updates and market changes, is crucial for success. Effective time management, proactive problem-solving, and strong relationship-building skills are essential to overcome these hurdles and drive partner performance.

Job description

The Role

Oasis Security is seeking a high-energy, multi-threaded Regional Channel Account Manager (CAM) to dominate the US Central market. This isn't a traditional fulfillment role. You will be the primary architect of our partner-led lifecycle, responsible for identifying, recruiting, and "turning on" high-growth partners - transforming them into certified experts.

The Oasis Mindset: Building for Scale

We are a fast-paced, post-Series A startup where the status quo doesn't exist. This is a 'Builder' role we are looking for someone who thrives in the early stages of a territory, loves the 'zero-to-one' journey, and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. At Oasis, you'll have the autonomy to shape the partner strategy and the responsibility to deliver high-impact results in a rapidly evolving market.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Strategic Partnerships: Recruit, certify, and operationalize partners to successfully position and sell the Oasis platform.
  • Co-Selling: Drive regional revenue by co-selling complex enterprise deals with partners across Security, DevOps, and IAM stakeholders.
  • NHI Assessment: Enable partners to lead with NHI Assessments, leveraging data to secure enterprise license commitments.
  • Regional Strategy: Develop and execute a quantifiable strategy, maintaining accurate Salesforce hygiene and pipeline forecasts.
  • AI & Optimization: Leverage AI-driven tools and automation to streamline partner communication, enhance enablement materials, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Executive Relationships: Build C-level partner relationships to establish Oasis as the "first-call" solution for NHI security.

What Makes You a Good Fit

  • Experience: 3-5+ years in a channel or sales role, specifically within the cybersecurity industry.
  • Ecosystem Expertise: Proven track record in developing and executing channel strategies and managing complex partner relationships.
  • Relationship & Detail Oriented: You have a deep understanding of the nuances in partner dynamics. You're not just managing a list; you're building trust-based relationships and mastering the technical details of the NHI domain to become a true advisor to our partners.
  • Tech-Curious Mindset: You are excited about the potential of AI in sales and channel management and proactive about experimenting with new tools to scale your territory.
  • Communication: Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with experience working channel events and conferences.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel as required to support partners and sales activities.
