* Pitch, develop, and execute enterprise stories - including complex, multi-element reporting in news and sports
* Work several days each week as a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ): shoot, write, edit, and report solo in the field (Edius experience is a plus)
* Deliver live shots and breaking news updates with speed, composure, and strong editorial judgment
* Write and edit content that is clear, accurate, and context-rich for broadcast, web, and social platforms
* Coordinate with newsroom leadership, producers, and digital teams to ensure consistent coverage across platforms
* Maintain high ethical standards, strong sourcing, and editorial transparency; uphold station and company policies
* Build and sustain community relationships and story sources; represent Alaska’s News Source professionally in public
* Mentor/collaborate with weekend staff to elevate storytelling, writing, and production quality
* Fill-in for other anchors on various shifts, as needed/assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Significant on-air anchoring and production experience in a broadcast newsroom (not an entry-level role)
* Demonstrated ability to lead coverage decisions and uphold strong editorial standards under deadline pressure
* Proven track record of enterprise and breaking news reporting as an MMJ, including complex story development and strong writing
* Producing experience (newscasts and segment producing) with the ability to build rundowns, stack shows, and write/approve scripts
* Strong interest and capability in sports coverage (story selection, writing, highlights/analysis, live sports or sports-adjacent content)
* Hands-on MMJ skills: ability to shoot, write, edit, and manage live field reporting independently
* Comfortable anchoring/producing for digital and livestream content (news and sports), including quick-turn updates
* Excellent news judgment, ethical decision-making, and commitment to accuracy and fairness
