Job Description

Purpose:

The Change Management & Enablement Associate Director plays a critical role in driving Finance Transformation programs forward as part of enterprise-wide culture and behavior change to enable sustainable adoption of new processes, ways of working, and operating models within AbbVie Finance.  This role goes beyond project delivery to focus on embedding change into the organization’s DNA, ensuring that employees not only adopt new tools and processes, but also embrace the mindsets, behaviors, and cultural shifts required to sustain transformation.

The individual will lead the design and execution of integrated change strategies that influence leadership alignment, employee engagement, and process adoption, ultimately accelerating value realization and long-term organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

Culture & Behavior Change Leadership

  • Lead Finance Transformation initiatives that drive mindset and behavior change, reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and adaptability.

  • Partner with senior leaders to model and reinforce desired cultural attributes and ways of working.

  • Work with SMEs to translate transformation objectives into clear behavioral expectations and adoption milestones.

Process & Adoption Transformation

  • Drive end-to-end adoption of new processes and operating models, ensuring alignment across people, process, and technology.

  • Identify and address barriers to adoption, focusing on sustainable behavior change vs. one-time implementation.

  • Embed change into business routines, governance forums, and performance management where appropriate.

Integrated Change Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute holistic change strategies that integrate communications, training, stakeholder engagement, and reinforcement mechanisms.

  • Apply structured change management methodologies to support both large-scale transformations and targeted process improvements.

  • Ensure alignment of change activities across cross-functional teams and initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership Alignment

  • Build strong, trusted partnerships with senior leaders and project teams to drive alignment, sponsorship, and accountability.

  • Conduct stakeholder and readiness assessments to inform targeted interventions.

  • Act as a strategic advisor to leaders on navigating organizational change and resistance.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track adoption, behavior change, and culture metrics to measure success.

  • Leverage data and insights to continuously refine change strategies and improve outcomes.

Capability Building & Enablement

  • Design and deliver training that supports not just knowledge transfer, but behavioral and mindset shifts.

  • Coach managers and teams to effectively lead and sustain change.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience leading organizational change, culture transformation, or process adoption initiatives.
  • Proven ability to drive behavior change and embed new ways of working in complex, cross-functional environments.

  • Experience partnering with senior leadership to influence culture, alignment, and decision-making.

  • Strong understanding of change management methodologies (e.g., PROSCI, ACMP), with ability to apply them pragmatically.

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.

  • Experience designing and measuring adoption and culture-related success metrics.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Organizational Development, Education).
