CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer to join our Commercial & Institutional – MEP Team at our Bethlehem, PA office.


CHA creates state-of-the-art mechanical systems that prioritize energy efficiency without sacrificing strength or ramping up costs. Our technical professionals have valuable hands-on experience as plant managers and engineers in industrial settings so we can create solutions for complex facilities including complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering, and design/construction services.

The Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of commercial and school projects within his/her discipline and provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering. At CHA, this individual plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. This key role provides guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff. The Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer provides technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.)

The Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer resolves highly complex technical issues and continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems. The professional in this role recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) required
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience is required
  • Prior engineering consulting firm experience preferred
  • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Understands QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment; proven ability to lead a team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required
  • Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred

$110,000 - $140,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
