This job is primarily responsible for implementing an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Responsibilities include overseeing critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost.

In this job, you will:

  • Manage logistics and execution of assigned program(s).
  • Maintain and establish new relationships with customers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure understanding of the requirements of our shareholders for quality, commodity safety, volume and purity (where applicable).
  • Ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Manage product inventory to keep production running, increase dump quantity and minimize dump times.
  • Provide timely communication to various departments and staff regarding commodity positions, loading obligations and loading schedules; and other information pertinent to assigned program(s).
  • Coordinate and set expectations for the assigned commodity process.
  • Oversee staffing activities (hiring, training, employee performance management, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, etc.); where applicable.
  • Fully participate in the company Safety, Food Safety, and Quality programs (where applicable, e.g. Oilseed Processing locations).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

Required - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and/or experience.

Experience

Required - 3 year's related working industry experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of finance, accounting, and contracts.
  • Working knowledge of barge loading and railcar operations.
  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills to develop knowledge of market prices, trends, and future direction with ability to use this knowledge to make sound business decisions.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem solving and resolution skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.

Additional information you need to know:

Physical Demands & Requirements

Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be capable of climbing ladders and entering confined spaces as needed.

Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.

The expected base pay range for this role is:

$92,216.00 - $128,082.00

Actual pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including work location, job-related knowledge, skills and relevant experience for the job. Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular period of time.
