About the Role: 

Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment. This role oversees receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and employee performance while helping establish processes, procedures, and best practices that support growth, efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in an evolving environment, drives accountability, and continuously improves operational performance.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in warehouse packing or logistics operations
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience leading teams of 10 or more hourly associates
  • Strong safety mindset with proven experience enforcing safety protocols in receiving or warehouse operations.
  • Experience in a fast-paced facilities. 

Responsibilities:

    • Oversees Wausau inbound operation, including unloading, palletizing, receiving, deployment/transfer loading, put away, and order picking. Directs inbound team with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and throughput. Provides direction for 2nd shift Supervisor on inbound priorities and assignments.
    • Collaborates with logistics and plant supervisors to balance incoming demands/fill rate needs with Wausau operational capability.
    • Develops and implements work schedules to maintain effective and efficient inbound operations. Coordinates with shipping supervisor to integrate inbound activities with outbound workflow to effectively leverage resources. Assists with outbound activities (loading, transfers) to balance workload and free up dock space.
    • Provides constant dock and warehouse floor leadership while occasionally working in a hands-on role in receiving, put away, or picking. Participates in daily stand-up meetings and coaches’ employees to energize the operation, promote teamwork and accountability, and drive results.
    • Assigns work to warehouse team, reviews output, and drives productivity and quality in all activities. Makes minor adjustments to processes, addresses receiving problems, and completes pending transactions to improve the flow in inbound operations. Ensures that the dock and the receipt area are flushed on a continuous basis.
    • Helps to maintain inventory integrity using FIFA and through proper put away, ensuring the operation meets standards for handling and storage. Aids in maintaining proper housekeeping and inventory organization to prevent product mix-ups, damage, deterioration, contamination, or other adverse effects.
    • Trains, develops, and mentors team members. Assists in conducting job breakdowns, training, and supports cross-training to provide greater operational flexibility and enhance employee job satisfaction. Coaches and develops functional area teams and provides guidance.
    • Participates in recruitment and selection process for new warehouse employees and temporary-to-hire resources. Assists HR in employee onboarding. Provides new hire orientation for dock safety, on-the-job training, scheduling, and employee support. Develops and recommends strategies to offset staff shortages or turnover.
    • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and fosters a lean culture through 6S, formal problem solving/Kaizen events, and standard work to eliminate non-compliance, defects, and waste.
    • Collaborates with Quality and Purchasing to ensure the processing, containment, and corrective action of product nonconformances. Establishes inbound segregation protocols with Quality and monitors aging of receipts on hold. Assists management in addressing complaints and CAPA’s.
    • Support’s Wausau safety (behavior-based) program. Attends safety committee meetings on a rotational basis and engages in hazard mapping events. 
    • May assist with the completion of administrative tasks for areas of responsibility; including Time & Attendance (ADP), Daily Management (SQDC, Process charting, KPI input, and Powered Industrial Truck record keeping (daily Inspections). 
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Lean/Six Sigma methodologies a plus
