Overview

WHO are we looking for? 

CAPTRUST is offering a Wealth Management paid internship in our Sacramento, CA office that will provide exposure to the inner workings of a wealth management firm. This position will be trained in different aspects of financial planning and wealth management. Hands-on learning starts day one in this fast-paced environment. The intern will also be trained in multiple software used throughout the firm. This role will be supervised by a Certified Financial Planner. This will be a full-time position between June and August with the ability to accommodate a class workload. Completion of an internship may lead to, but does not guarantee, future full-time employment. Primary responsibilities may include the following, amongst others:

Responsibilities

Financial Planning/Para-planner activities (+/-75%)

  • Attend client meetings in a support role including meeting preparation and follow-up activities
  • Assist with gathering client information and creation of high-quality retirement plans
  • Assist in preparing client account and retirement plan reports
  • Learn our portfolio management systems

Ad-hoc Research (+/-20%) - Assist in internal research and client specific research projects

Administrative (+/-5%) - Support client services and administrative teams as need

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing undergraduate/graduate degree from an accredited institution, college, or university
  • Any school of business majors (Finance, Accounting, Economics preferred)
  • Significant interest in the workings of financial planning and wealth management and intend to pursue the CFP designation upon graduation

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Strong self-starter
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask with proven ability to plan and achieve results
  • Demonstrate high work ethics and integrity
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of information
  • Team player, collaborative, able to work with and through others
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to manage multiple reporting relationships
