Job description

Chief Financial Officer | PE Backed Energy Company

We're working with a growing, private equity backed energy company seeking a new CFO to join its leadership team. The company is backed by a PE firm with more than $2 billion in AUM and is operating in a high paced, growth focused environment with active M&A on both the domestic and international front.

Role Overview

The CFO will own consolidated financial reporting across the company's domestic operating entities and play a key role in the company's continued growth and M&A activity. The platform is actively pursuing both domestic and international acquisitions, and this role sits at the center of that strategy.

There is a direct report in LATAM who currently oversees the finance function for sister companies within the broader PE portfolio. Those sister companies will not have their own CFO, so their finance teams will report functionally into this CFO role, while day to day FP&A remains managed locally at each entity. This means the CFO will need to be comfortable managing across a multi entity, multi country structure without direct daily oversight of every function.

The CFO will also oversee two major reporting packages delivered to the board and shareholders, so strong command of consolidated reporting and board level communication is essential.

The CFO will also lead the company's IPO readiness workstream, including ERP implementation and SOX 404 compliance, positioning the finance function for the rigor and structure required of a public company.

Key Qualifications

  • 15+ years of accounting and finance experience
  • Private equity, M&A, or both strongly preferred
  • CPA preferred, but not required
  • Experience operating in a high growth, fast paced environment
  • Comfortable managing complex, multi entity organizational structures, including functional oversight of teams outside the US
  • IPO readiness experience, including ERP implementation and SOX 404, strongly preferred
  • Willingness to relocate to the Southwest or Southeast

Why This Role

This is a high visibility opportunity for a finance leader with a track record of managing through growth, M&A, complex organizational structures, and private equity ownership.
