Job description

The Position:
Join us at Contech Engineered Solutions, where we're building the future of stormwater treatment solutions. As a Product Development Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of innovation-designing, developing, and testing new products that directly impact environmental sustainability and water quality. From concept through commercialization, your work will help shape technologies that make a difference.
About the role:
  • Lead and contribute to engineering design projects from ideation to production.
  • Develop 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and cost estimates.
  • Perform feasibility assessments, prototyping, testing, and design for manufacturability as part of New Product Development (NPD).
  • Collaborate across teams to optimize product performance and profitability.
  • Build and test working prototypes, perform technical calculations, and collect data for analysis.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies in stormwater and adjacent markets.
  • Support intellectual property management and patent research.
  • Travel occasionally (up to 10%) for testing, field visits, or vendor collaboration.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related).
  • 2+ years of experience in product design and development (5+ preferred).
  • Hands-on, creative mindset with strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar), plus Microsoft Office tools.
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods, and vendor sourcing.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:
  • Experience with hydraulics, CFD modeling, or stormwater/environmental systems.
