Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel contract at a short-term acute care hospital in Florida, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience and proficiency with Cerner EMR.

Details
  • Work setting is a 223-bed short-term acute care hospital in a Cardiac Cath Lab environment
  • Potential to float to Interventional Radiology (IR) within scope of practice
  • Patient ratio is 1:1
  • Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • On-call required on a rotating basis: 1 week on, 3 weeks off
  • Cerner EMR experience is required
  • Weekend requirements to be discussed during interview
Requirements
  • Active FL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand (no pending licenses accepted)
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
  • Experience in Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology (IR) required
  • Conscious sedation skills required
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR required
  • Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical and religious exemptions accepted)
Additional Information
  • Key clinical skills include: Activated Clotting Time (ACT), cardioversion, sheath removal and monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG, vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, PCI, TEE, pacemaker insertion, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
  • Medication administration includes antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics, emergency medications, dobutamine, and reversal agents
  • First-time travelers are considered if they meet the minimum 2-year Cath Lab RN experience requirement
  • No RTO is permitted within the contract; any RTO requests must be discussed directly with the hiring manager during the interview process
  • Former permanent employees of the health system must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Return travelers may only apply to specific specialties (ICU, MICU, CVICU, ED, PCU, MS/Tele) and must have completed a contract within the last year
  • A pass/fail EKG exam is required (up to 3 attempts allowed)
  • Pre-start and annual modules are required; hours vary by specialty
  • Royal blue scrubs are required
