Physical Therapist

Location: Northridge, CA

Start Date: 03-23-2026

End Date: 06-22-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Tuesday-Saturday, 8-hour day shifts (start time varies by unit; day shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans to restore mobility and function
  • Deliver high-quality inpatient, outpatient and rehab interventions (ortho, neuro, post-surgical, trauma)
  • Perform and document patient care in Cerner PowerChart with accuracy and professional detail
  • Collaborate closely with OT, SLP, rehab aides and nursing to ensure cohesive care plans
  • Provide skilled care for complex diagnoses including spinal cord injury, stroke and trauma
  • Float to assigned areas as needed and adapt quickly to changing patient populations
  • Participate in unit-specific orientation and complete required Cerner training
Qualifications
  • State Physical Therapy license required (license to submit is required)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (facility notes may consider strong inpatient clinical experience in some cases)
  • Travel experience preferred; trauma experience preferred
  • Comfort working across inpatient, outpatient and rehab settings
  • Strong documentation skills in Cerner PowerChart
Knowledge & Skills
  • Proficiency with Cerner PowerChart EMR and electronic charting workflows
  • Skilled in patient assessment, mobilization, gait training and therapeutic exercise
  • Experience with orthopedic, neurological and post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Ability to manage varied caseloads (inpatient up to ~13/day, outpatient up to ~9/day depending on area)
  • Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
  • Familiarity with bedside procedures and working alongside rehab aides/OTAs
