Along the Lake Michigan shoreline, Milwaukee, WI threads a navigable urban grid. Froedtert Hospital and Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center shape much of the clinical landscape, and their emergency department and surgical suites draw on travel coverage to manage the daily caseload. Many travelers set up a commuter base in Wauwatosa, West Allis, or Waukesha, where the highway system keeps the drive workable. The compact layout is the practical draw, since most campuses sit a short hop apart. After a stretch of shifts, the downtown RiverWalk and the Oak Leaf Trail are close at hand. With the lake on one side and a tight street grid on the other, getting around rarely turns into the hard part of an assignment.
