Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring active IL licensure and hands-on interventional cardiac cath lab experience.

Details
  • Acute care hospital setting — Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds
  • Assigned to the Cardiac Cath Lab unit (5-room unit) with an average daily census of 25
  • Day shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (0630–1900)
  • Required to work 2–3 weekends per 13-week contract
  • On-call required as needed
  • Floating within scope is required, including potential float to an affiliate nearby hospital
  • Required procedures include: Circulate Procedures, Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult), Left Heart Catheterization, Right Heart Catheterization, and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz Monitoring
  • Required medication experience: Procedural Sedation Administration and Monitoring
  • Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Free parking available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
Requirements
  • Active IL RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
  • Minimum 1 year of interventional cardiac cath lab experience required
  • Required clinical skills: Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias, Monitoring Procedural Sedation
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position
  • Candidates must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays falling within the contract period
  • RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodable; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
  • Schedule change requests should be discussed directly with the manager
  • Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
  • Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
  • Floating within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities is a requirement for all travelers in this role
