Job description

The Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Program Officer/Senior Program Officer, Communications Publications and External Engagement to support the organization’s communications and public engagement efforts. This role helps shape CEPA’s external voice and visibility through publications, editorial products, press engagement, and the institution’s website.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and collaborative communicator with a sharp eye for detail and design. They will bring creative ideas to amplify CEPA’s voice, possess strong organizational and project management skills, and be comfortable juggling multiple priorities across digital platforms.

The Program Officer/Senior Program Officer, Communications reports to the Director, Communications and Information Systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the production process for select longform publications and develop ideas for unique publication features and promotion;
  • Work with the Director to implement launch strategies and publication design features;
  • Supervise the publication of shortform content on CEPA’s website;
  • Regularly maintain and update website structure and collateral, working with programs to ensure relevant pages match programmatic priorities;
  • Work with the Director to proactively drive ideas for website maintenance, management, and development;
  • Manage website working group activities;
  • Conceptualize and execute the creation of infographics, data visualizations and artwork for CEPA’s publications;
  • Assist with daily press engagement and media monitoring operations;
  • Work with the Director to formulate and implement media outreach strategy, including pitches, press briefings, and other ideas for media outreach.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • 13 years or more of relevant experience;
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to edit and to write quickly and clearly;
  • Positive, flexible, getitdone attitude;
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment;
  • Ability to work independently and within a team across the organization;
  • Attention to detail and problemsolving skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a timesensitive environment;
  • Have an understanding of and a commitment to CEPA’s mission to transatlantic values and principles;
  • Ability to handle sensitive information, meet deadlines, and maintain grace under pressure.
  • A successful candidate will have:
  • 12 years of experience in editorial and publications experience, with a focus on missiondriven longform publications, including a demonstrated ability to creating and editing engaging written products;
  • Experience in the Adobe Creative Cloud, Pressfocused Customer Relationship Management Software (MuckRack), data visualization tools (Datawrapper, Flourish, Mapbox, or similar), email marketing tools (Mail Chimp, Klaiveyo, Salesforce Pardot, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, and WordPress Gutenberg;
  • Demonstrated experience in video or podcast production;
  • Candidates with experience in any of the following, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, Project Management software (Asana, Notion, or similar), or related tools, will be strongly considered.
