Job Summary

Work with various stakeholders within PSE&G Customer Care to build advanced analytics solutions by applying machine learning algorithms and statistical models to existing data sets in order to identify trends/patterns in customer behaviors and customer experience gaps. Associate will work with various stakeholders across departments and lines of businesses to identify advanced analysis projects. The associate will work to define the analytical requirements and to gather data to execute the study.

This will include:

  • Understanding the data-analytic problem presented
  • Identifying data sets and variables necessary to perform the analysis
  • Securing access to the data and extracting the data in a logical and efficient manner
  • Cleaning and validating the data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and uniformity
  • Devising and applying models and algorithms to mine the data
  • Using statistical and machine learning tools to identify patterns and trends
  • Interpreting the data to discover solutions and opportunities
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders using visualization and other means
Job Responsibilities
  • Collect, clean, and correlate customer data to various survey data (Transaction Satisfaction Studies, JD Power Studies, Cogent Studies and other perception studies) and to 3rd party demographic data (Clarita/ Nelson, Census data etc.).
  • Identify valuable data sources and ensure data is cleansed and properly structured to be consumed by the various analytic and modeling platforms used by the company.
  • Use statistical and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns within the data to help make decisions around improving the customer experience and closing process gaps.
  • Effectively communicate results of analytic models and insights from data mining to subject matter experts and team members.
Job Specific Qualifications Job Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in a discipline with a strong mathematical and statistical focus such as Computer/Data Science, Big Data, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering or equivalent degree, e.g. Data Analytics, Decision Science
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience with data mining techniques, data modeling, statistical analysis and machine learning techniques and algorithms.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying machine learning techniques and algorithms using common data science toolkits such as SAS, R and Python, using query languages such as SQL, applying statistics skills such as distributions, statistical testing and regression.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present and communicate insights from data models and analysis.

  • Experience with Alteryx
  • Working knowledge of Tableau such that has experience connecting data sources and developing dashboards
  • Knowledge of JD Power studies and methodologies
