About the Role

'As a member of Ascend’s Data Team, the School Performance Data Manager will ensure Ascend’s assessment and grading systems run effectively to produce accurate, actionable data that informs instructional and organizational decisions. This role leads on day-to-day system management and cross-functional coordination, partnering with the Director of School Performance & Analytics to ensure data quality, reliable processes, and effective use of assessment tools. The School Performance Data Manager collaborates across teams , such as with the Publications and Teaching & Learning teams, to ensure assessment systems are set up and used consistently, allowing for accurate reporting and performance insights. This role reports to the Director of School Performance and Analytics as part of the Data Team.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manages day-to-day data and assessment operations, including monitoring Ascend’s assessment and grading systems, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and reliability
  • Manage and support data ticket requests with a high level of accuracy and responsiveness
  • Gather and analyze basic data to support decision making, including identifying areas of risk or inefficiencies in assessment set up and grading completion
  • Maintain and update internal documentation, including training decks and user guides
  • Training schools and other network team members on our data and assessment platforms
  • Support cyclical data management and reporting processes as defined by the Director of School Performance & Analytics.


Staff and Reporting Relationships

This role reports to the Director of School Performance and Analytics as part of the Data Team.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-2 years of experience, preferably in an education or tech setting
  • Experience with assessment and grading platforms, K-12 student information systems, or general data management systems.
  • Intermediate Google Sheets or Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Basic familiarity with SQL or Tableau helpful but not required.
  • Proven commitment to maintaining data accuracy and integrity.

Compensation

The salary will range between $70,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with level of experience.
