About this opportunity:

Cenovus is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the team at our Toledo refinery. In this role, you will monitor operating expenses, utility costs, and capital expenditures while performing variance analyses to identify key performance drivers. You will support annual budgeting and strategic planning processes and develop dashboards, scorecards, and management reporting tools to enhance business insights and decision-making. Key deliverables include Financial Planning & Performance Management, Business Partnership & Cost Management, and Accounting & Financial Reporting.

What you'll do:

  • Support refinery-wide financial management activities including budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, cost management, accounting support, expenditure governance, and business planning.

  • Partner with multiple functional areas to improve financial visibility, strengthen decision-making, and drive business performance.

  • Develop, maintain and analyze operating budgets, forecasts and long-range plans.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts.

  • Internal stakeholders include Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Commercial, Accounting, Corporate Finance, Shared Services and Refinery Leadership Team.

Who you are:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline.

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, FP&A, or finance business partnering.

  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, reporting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate results effectively.

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
