Are you a hands-on leader who takes pride in maintaining beautiful and meaningful spaces? We are seeking a Cemetery Grounds Superintendent to oversee the care, maintenance, and daily grounds operations of Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka, KS.

This is an opportunity for an experienced grounds, landscaping, construction, parks, or cemetery operations professional to lead a dedicated team while ensuring our cemeteries remain welcoming, well-maintained places of remembrance for the families we serve. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with an ownership mindset, a commitment to safety, and a passion for excellence in maintaining cemetery grounds and facilities.

In this role, you will lead daily grounds operations across your assigned location(s), coordinate burial and memorialization activities, manage equipment and vendor relationships, and develop a team focused on quality, accountability, and service. From landscaping and tree care to equipment management and property maintenance, you'll play a key role in preserving the beauty and integrity of these historic community landmarks.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, cemetery operations, construction, parks maintenance, or a related field
  • Leadership or supervisory experience with the ability to coach and develop team members
  • Experience operating commercial landscaping, excavation, or construction equipment
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and exceptional service

Work Environment & Physical Demands
This position works primarily outdoors in all weather conditions and involves physically active work.
