Cedar Mountain House is seeking a compassionate and experienced Medication Aide - SIC to support our clinical team in administering medications and providing specialized care to residents at Cedar Mountain House.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.

  • Specialized Care Support: Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs).

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely medication records and documentation, including reporting any adverse reactions or medication errors to the supervising nurse.

  • Resident Monitoring: Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition related to medication, notifying the healthcare team of any concerns or changes in their health status.

  • Medication Storage & Handling: Ensure medications are stored safely and securely in compliance with state regulations and facility policies.

  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care and outcomes for residents.

  • Compliance & Safety: Follow all regulations, guidelines, and protocols for medication administration and safety to ensure the highest standard of care.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • State certification as a Medication Aide preferred, on-the-job training available.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in senior care or assisted living (preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control practices

  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members

  • Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
