The Opportunity

This is a high-impact commercial leadership role responsible for driving business growth across Europe for Syngene's Biologics CDMO business.

You will work with innovative biotech companies and leading pharmaceutical organizations to advance programs from early development through clinical and commercial manufacturing. Partnering closely with global scientific, technical, and operational teams, you will build strategic customer relationships, lead complex commercial engagements, and drive sustainable revenue growth across the region.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Growth & Revenue Leadership
  • Own regional revenue performance, pipeline growth, and new business acquisition across Europe.
  • Develop and execute territory plans aligned with Syngene's commercial strategy.
  • Drive opportunities across the biologics value chain, from development through commercial manufacturing.
  • Deliver growth through both new customer acquisition and expansion of existing accounts.
Strategic Customer Engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decisionโ€‘makers across biotech and pharmaceutical organizations.
  • Act as the primary commercial contact for prospective and existing customers.
  • Understand customer pipelines, outsourcing strategies, and business priorities.
  • Position Syngene as a trusted partner for biologics development and manufacturing.
Commercial Opportunity Leadership
  • Lead opportunities through the full commercial lifecycle, including:
  • Prospecting and qualification
  • RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs
  • Solution development
  • Proposal preparation
  • Negotiation and contract execution
  • Develop competitive, customerโ€‘focused proposals aligned with customer requirements and Syngene's capabilities.
New Business Development
  • Identify and engage target customers across key European biotech markets.
  • Generate opportunities through industry networking, conferences, referrals, and market intelligence.
  • Represent Syngene at customer meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Expand Syngene's visibility and commercial presence across the region.
Crossโ€‘Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with scientific, manufacturing, project management, quality, legal, and finance teams globally to position Syngene as a leading multinational CRDMO.
  • Work in partnership with internal technical and manufacturing teams to position Syngene as a trusted and capable partner, align opportunity execution with global business goals, and drive win rate improvement within the region.
  • Collaborate effectively across Europe, the US, and India to ensure successful opportunity execution and customer experience.
  • Work collaboratively with other commercial teams to maximize synergy revenue through effective lead sharing and cross selling.
Pipeline Management & Forecasting
  • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and forecasting through Salesforce CRM.
  • Provide pipeline visibility, commercial forecasts, and market insights to leadership through weekly updates in CRM tool and Monthly/Quarterly reporting requirements
  • Drive disciplined sales process execution and forecasting accuracy.
QualificationsEssential
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
Preferred
  • MBA and/or PhD in a relevant scientific field.
ExperienceEssential
  • Significant experience in biologics CDMO business development, strategic sales and leading business development activities within the European market.
  • Established network within the European biotech and pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven success selling development and GMP manufacturing services to biotech and pharmaceutical customers.
  • Demonstrated track record of closing complex, highโ€‘value commercial deals.
  • Consistent history of achieving or exceeding annual revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of biologics development and manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience managing both earlyโ€‘stage and lateโ€‘stage customer engagements.
  • Ability to operate independently and manage a territory with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
