Keen Compressed Gas Company currently has an opening for a CDL Class B Hazmat and Airbrake Endorsed Driver position serving our New Castle Ave, DE Branch. This is a full-time position.

The Branch Driver candidate is responsible for servicing Branch customers by delivering cylinders and hardgoods as well as picking up cylinders and items for repair. Take customer orders and/or inquires and pass on to the branch manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Make deliveries of full cylinders and hard goods at customer locations as directed.
  • Pick up empty cylinders, returns sale goods and items for repair.
  • Service customers by taking orders and passing orders on to Branch Manager for processing.
  • Pass on sales leads to branch manager or to Keen's outside sales team.
  • Loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Move cylinders on site by rolling, carrying or hand truck.
  • Load pallets with cylinders & secure said pallets on truck; if needed, use forklift to load pallets on truck.
  • Place correct placards on truck and follow DOT regulations.
  • Maintain company truck by performing trip inspections, completing daily vehicle inspection report, reporting required maintenance, and operating truck in a safe manner while obeying all traffic laws.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately.
  • Proper recording of ships & returns of cylinders on shipping ticket and manifest.
  • Proper completion of manifest.
  • Proper recording of any checks or cash receive by customers.
  • Fill propane safely and assist in the store as required.
  • Assist with store housekeeping.
  • Attend and participate in safety and teleconference meetings.
  • Proper use of forklift; maintaining up to date training and certification, follow guidelines of using a forklift, and inspecting forklift before to use.

Qualifications:

  • CDL Class A or Class B license with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsement; maintain exceptional driving record.
  • Must have commercial driving experience and able to drive the type trucks we use.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good mathematical comprehension skills.
  • Continuous heavy lifting; must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Must be familiar with the counties we service.
  • Sales ability and experience a plus.
  • Fork Lift certified.
