Job description

Pompei, Inc. is a well-established commercial flooring contractor based in Newport News, Virginia. We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious CDL Class B Delivery Driver / Warehouse Support team member to join our growing company.

This position is responsible for delivering construction materials and equipment to commercial job sites throughout Virginia and surrounding areas, generally within a 200-mile radius of Newport News. On some occations deliveries will be made to job sites in North and South Carolina. When not making deliveries, the successful candidate will assist our warehouse manager with organizing inventory, pulling materials, and preparing deliveries.

You will be paired with another employee who will assist with loading and unloading materials at project sites.

Compensation

  • $26.00 - $32.00 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities

  • Deliver construction materials and equipment to commercial job sites
  • Inspect vehicle before and after each trip
  • Secure and protect cargo during transport
  • Work with delivery partner to load and unload materials
  • Assist warehouse manager with:
  • Pulling materials for upcoming deliveries
  • Organizing warehouse inventory
  • Receiving and stocking incoming materials
  • Maintaining a clean and safe warehouse

Qualifications

  • Valid Virginia CDL Class B Driver's License
  • Clean driving record (no points or major violations)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating commercial trucks
  • Must be eligible to pass a background check required for access to military installations
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or possess valid authorization to work in the United States
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety
  • Forklift experience is a plus (training available if needed)

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday through Friday
  • 8-hour day shift
  • Occasional weekends as needed
