A CDL A 1099 driver is a commercial truck driver who holds a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and works as an independent contractor rather than a traditional employee. These drivers are responsible for their own taxes, benefits, and expenses, but often have more flexibility in choosing jobs and negotiating pay. Working as a 1099 driver means you are essentially operating your own business and must manage your own business-related paperwork and compliance.
