The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As(n) CDI Outsourcing Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Provide overall management and oversight for assigned outsourced CDI engagements, including supplemental and fully outsourced programs, while supporting Consulting Services revenue and performance objectives.
Manage client and vendor relationships, proactively addressing operational challenges, resolving conflicts, and ensuring successful delivery of contracted CDI services.
Directly supervise CDI professionals, providing leadership, coaching, clinical documentation expertise, and ongoing development to achieve established quality, productivity, and performance targets.
Monitor CDI program effectiveness through productivity, quality, financial, and operational metrics; identify trends and opportunities for improvement; and develop and implement action plans to address performance gaps.
Lead day-to-day CDI operations, including workload allocation, performance monitoring, goal setting, and accountability for team outcomes.
Develop and deliver targeted education and training based on audit findings, documentation trends, quality opportunities, and individual staff development needs.
Partner with client leadership, Coding, CDI, and internal Consulting Services teams to optimize workflows, strengthen clinical documentation practices, and improve overall program performance.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and CDI best practices while addressing performance or policy concerns appropriately.
Support employee engagement, professional development, and career growth while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing CDI team.

Your Skills and Expertise


To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

AND eight (8) years of acute care CDI management experience in a private, public, government or military environment


In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

CCDS certification or valid RN license with minimum of five (5) years acute care experience

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Master's degree in HIM, Nursing, or other healthcare clinical background from an accredited institution
Preferred 10+ years in management of CDI or Health Information Management (HIM) services consulting or coding functions in mid-to-large size acute care hospital setting or 10+ years in management of outsourced CDI group
Strong ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, ICD-10-CM/PCS Coding Guidelines and DRG methodologies experience; Working knowledge of risk-adjusted methodologies (e.g., APR DRGs) and quality of care measures (e.g., HACs, PSIs)
Deep understanding of clinical documentation, medical record coding, healthcare billing and revenue cycle management
Attention to detail, highly organized, with an absolute focus on quality of work. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, work independently and produce excellent results

Work location: Remote-United States

Travel: May include up to 50% [domestic/international]

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
