Your Mission

Support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by providing high-quality data management, analytics, and reporting.


What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Provide on-site data management services to the PEB Branch
  • Develop plans to link laboratory data with epidemiologic data
  • Perform data management and cleaning to produce analytic datasets, including troubleshooting and correcting errors
  • Pre-process data and lead data preparation workflows
  • Build surveillance indicator datasets at district and regional levels
  • Produce data dictionaries and documentation for all deliverables
  • Conduct descriptive data analyses, including summary tables and figures
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all data outputs
  • Provide annotated programming code documenting data processes
  • Utilize R (R Studio, Tidyverse) and other tools to solve data management and analytic challenges
  • Generate GIS-based maps of epidemiologic data and disease indicators
  • Design and develop data entry programs and databases for studies and surveys
  • Implement logic controls such as skip patterns and validation checks
  • Monitor study data to ensure integrity, completeness, and accuracy throughout project duration

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health, Systems Analysis, Computer Programming, or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in data management, data programming, or data analysis supporting public health or vaccine-preventable disease programs
  • Minimum of 2 years of advanced experience using R statistical software (R Studio, Tidyverse)
  • Ability to independently design and execute data analysis tasks using R
  • Expert R skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using Open Data Kit (ODK)
  • Strong experience with geographic information systems (GIS)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with data entry platforms such as:

  • CSPro
  • Microsoft Access
  • RedCap
  • Familiarity with SAS, STATA, SPSS, or EPI Info
  • Prior CDC background check (highly desired and preferred)
