What Youโll Doโฆ
As a Biological Materials Handler supporting a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contract, youโll provide logistics and shipping support for biological materials in a non-laboratory capacity. In this role, youโll be responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining accurate documentation, and responding promptly to shipping requests. Your work will help ensure biological materials are transported safely, accurately, and on time in support of public health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities & Expected Outcomes
- Regulatory-Compliant Shipping Supportโ Support inbound and outbound shipments of biological materials by verifying permits, declarations, and packaging requirements in accordance with applicable domestic and international regulations.
- International Shipping Coordinationโ Provide guidance on international shipping requirements for biological materials, working closely with the CDC shipping office to ensure compliance and timely execution.
- Accurate Packing & Documentationโ Ensure correct biological materials and viruses are packed in each shipment, complete all required shipping paperwork, and verify accuracy prior to release.
- Shipment Tracking & Recordkeepingโ Track shipments, maintain shipping records, and upload all required documentation into the VSDB shipping database to support audit readiness and traceability.
- Operational Responsiveness & Supportโ Respond promptly to shipping requests, log and forward invoices for payment in a timely manner and support smooth coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
