Job description

Our client, a technology solutions provider company located in San Francisco, CA, needs a Network Engineer for permanent employment. The Network Engineer will work 4 days a week onsite in San Francisco, and design, implement, operate, and troubleshoot a hybrid on-premises and cloud network environment built on Cisco infrastructure and Microsoft Azure
Required Skills:
5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience supporting complex, large-scale environments.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies, including Catalyst and Nexus switches and ISR/ASR routers. Strong knowledge of VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP/VRRP, QoS, and multicast.
3+ years of experience deploying and supporting Versa or Cisco SD-WAN solutions in production environments.
3+ years of experience administering Cisco Firepower or FTD firewall platforms.
3+ years of experience managing Cisco wireless environments, including Catalyst 9800 and AireOS controllers and modern wireless access points.
3+ years of experience designing and supporting Azure networking solutions, including VNets, ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, and Azure Firewall.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
Desired Skills:
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, CCNP Data Center, or others.
  • 1+ year of experience leveraging AI-powered productivity and development tools, including GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, and vendor AI assistants for automation, troubleshooting, documentation, and code generation, with the ability to validate and verify AI-generated output.
  • Working knowledge of Forescout or a comparable NAC platform (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass).
  • Proficiency with Python and REST APIs for automating network operations against vendor controllers (e.g., Catalyst Center, vManage, Azure Resource Manager, F5).
