Ccm Developer information

What is a CCM developer?

CCM Developers are specialized software professionals who design, develop, and implement Customer Communications Management (CCM) solutions. They work with CCM platforms to create, manage, and automate personalized customer communications such as statements, invoices, emails, and other documents. Their role often involves integrating CCM systems with other business applications, ensuring compliance, and enhancing customer engagement through efficient communication processes. CCM Developers typically possess expertise in CCM tools (like OpenText Exstream, Quadient Inspire, or Smart Communications), programming, and document composition.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CCM developer?

To thrive as a CCM Developer, you need strong programming skills (often in Java or .NET), experience with Customer Communications Management (CCM) platforms like OpenText Exstream or Quadient Inspire, and a solid understanding of document management processes. Familiarity with CCM tools, XML, scripting languages, and sometimes certifications in specific CCM software are typically required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills help CCM Developers collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and IT teams. These skills ensure the efficient development and management of personalized customer communications, which are critical for customer engagement and regulatory compliance.

What are the main challenges a CCM developer faces when integrating customer communications with existing enterprise systems?

A CCM Developer often encounters challenges related to integrating customer communication management solutions with legacy systems and diverse data sources. Ensuring seamless data flow, maintaining data integrity, and aligning output formats with business requirements can be complex, particularly in large organizations with varied technology stacks. Additionally, balancing compliance, security, and performance while delivering personalized, omnichannel communications requires close collaboration with IT, business analysts, and compliance teams. Staying updated on evolving regulations and customer experience trends also plays a crucial role in overcoming these challenges.

O’Neil Digital Solutions (ODS) is a leading Customer Communication (CCM) and Customer Experience (CX) services company that provides omni-channel output and delivery to major U.S. industries. ODS offers proven technical capabilities that help companies communicate effectively with their customers, including our industry-leading, SaaS platform that provides AI-driven composition solutions, campaign management, data analytics, eDelivery and print & fulfillment services.

Summary

The Product Director provides strategic leadership across a multi-client technology delivery organization supporting healthcare payer clients and enterprise platforms. This role is responsible for governing end-to-end program health, delivery operations, and product execution across digital, print, and operational technology solutions. The Product Director partners cross-functionally with engineering, client services, and product teams to optimize delivery performance, operational efficiency, and client value realization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Own the product vision and roadmap strategy for enterprise platforms and healthcare communication solutions, translating client needs, market trends, and business objectives into a prioritized, outcome-driven product roadmap.
  • Lead product strategy and lifecycle ownership for the new ONEsuite platform, defining feature prioritization, business requirements, and success metrics, and partnering with Program/Delivery Management to sequence releases and manage pipeline execution.
  • Define and track product health metrics — adoption, customer satisfaction, feature value realization, and business impact — using delivery throughput and predictability data as supporting inputs, not the primary success measure.
  • Partner with engineering, delivery, and client leadership to align product priorities with resourcing and staffing plans, ensuring roadmap commitments are realistic and value-driven across a global delivery organization.
  • Serve as the product partner to strategic healthcare payer clients, translating client business needs into product requirements, communicating roadmap trade-offs, and owning outcome alignment between product decisions and client value.
  • Own product outcomes for operational and compliance-sensitive capabilities, including billing transparency, quality/defect trend insights, and production issue prioritization — determining what gets built to solve recurring problems, in partnership with delivery on execution.
  • Drive continuous product improvement, including customer/user feedback loops, process redesign informed by retrospectives, and championing automation/reporting capabilities (Jira/Confluence) that support product decision-making.
  • Champion product compliance and governance standards, ensuring roadmap and feature decisions align with HIPAA/PHI requirements, healthcare data governance, and enterprise product management best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements

Required Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in technology delivery, program management, or product management roles.
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership experience managing large-scale, matrixed engineering or product organizations.
  • Experience leading multi-client portfolios within a services, managed services, or healthcare technology environment.
  • Strong expertise with Agile, Kanban, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Advanced experience with Jira, workflow management, reporting, and operational analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, clients, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure

  • Experience supporting healthcare payer operations, regulated environments, or healthcare communications platforms.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA/PHI compliance requirements.
  • Experience with enterprise delivery tools including Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian reporting solutions.
  • Experience supporting print, digital communications, ERP, cloud, or workflow automation platforms.
  • PMP, Agile, Scrum, or related project/program management certifications preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional technology delivery organizations.
  • Expertise in operational governance, workflow optimization, and large-scale program execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage delivery metrics and operational data for decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced, client-driven environments.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare technology operations, compliance considerations, and enterprise delivery practices.
Working Conditions

Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work may be performed in an office, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to perform the following activities for the majority of the day: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb. In addition requires the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds. May be exposed to noise and be required to wear hearing protection for the duration of the shift.
