Job description

JOB PURPOSE

The Mold Setter will coordinate schedules and inventories to ensure efficient and effective operation of the assigned department or facility.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible for maintaining the appearance of all Thermolators, Robot Control Stations, DME Units, etc.
  • Responsible to follow all OSHA and safety rules and regulations
  • Load processing and robot programs, water tools, and set up thermolators, hot runners, and valve gates when necessary
  • Drive the reduction of scrap through identifying defective mold conditions using corrective action and mold repair items
  • Ensures proper care of all equipment especially the managing and proper cleaning of any water and oil emitted from a mold change.
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of mold set-up sheets
  • Deliver molding equipment to molding machines per scheduled requirements
  • Clean and inspect molds according to quality criteria as they are completed
  • Inspect and perform limited preventive maintenance on molding equipment
  • Set-up and operate computer controlled (automated) machines
  • Stack molds
  • Operate fork truck
  • Place core in molds according to quality procedures
  • Report safety related issues as encountered
  • Perform general housekeeping duties


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be experience with a range of IMM tonnage and controlled types
  • 3-5 years' experience in die setting preferred
  • Ability to push or pull heave loads with the aid of a wheeled cart or rollers
  • Desire to work within a fast-paced team environment
  • Must be trainable with a high leave of initiative
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Working knowledge of plant machinery, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatic preferred
  • Withstand exposure to noise, dust and heat
  • 8th Grade basic skill proficiency in reading, math, and language
  • Robotics experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Willing to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment, i.e. hot in the summers and cold during winter periods.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
