Within the Hardware Engineering Organization, the Undersea & Electronics Systems (UES) Department leads the design, development, and integration of a broad range of products, including but not limited to undersea sensors and analysis, naval platforms, shipboard/ground-based processing and power equipment, and launchers. The UES department is looking for a full-time Senior Electrical Engineer to support system power and grounding designs along with system prototyping and troubleshooting. This role will be on-site and located in Portsmouth, RI. What You Will Do * Support technical design with simulation and modeling of power systems
* Hands-on testing of prototypes and troubleshooting with electrical test equipment in a lab environment
* Participate in design peer reviews, resolve action items, and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions.
* Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals.
* Occasional travel to test sites, test ranges, or suppliers is generally required. International and longer duration travel assignments are available but optional Qualifications You Must Have: * Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
* Experience in power design, including magnetic design (transformers, inductors, filters), power supply design and simulation (Simetrix/SPICE), and analog circuit design for feedback control, noise reduction, grounding, EMI, and system validation.
* Experience with bench testing and validating new CCA designs, troubleshooting existing designs, detailed waveform analysis and CCA component analysis/stress validation testing.
* Experience mentoring junior engineers.
* The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Qualifications We Prefer: * Experience working Naval Programs in the subject areas of acoustics, torpedoes, mine warfare, submarines, and/or Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUVs).
* Experience with Radar System hardware
* Strong knowledge of engineering design tools and processes
* Proven ability to lead technical discussions to closure.
* Experience participating in production and test activities, as well as in design and development activities.
