Our client is a global security and aerospace company that employs approximately 114,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration, and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products, and services.
We are experiencing growth and seeking an RF Design Engineer at the clients site located in Andover, MA facility.
We offer an excellent working environment with a mix of cutting-edge design and genuine hands-on electronics laboratory testing and product development. This exciting RF position provides an opportunity to be a key contributor on our team of industry-leading RF design experts.
What You Will Be Doing:
*In this role, the Staff RF Engineer will support the development and production of complex multi-function modules used in challenging high reliability applications in all phases of the product life cycle.
*The engineer will have the opportunity to design and develop circuits, modules, and sub-systems from initial concept through prototyping and full-rate production.
*The engineer will work on complex technical problems and provide solutions which are innovative and ingenious.
*The engineer is expected to work independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational products.
*The engineer will mentor less experienced engineers on our team.
*The engineer will collaborate with other engineering disciplines, including hardware engineers, system engineers, and circuit design engineers as well as technician and manufacturing support personnel.
Basic Required Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 8+ years of professional experience; or 6+ years of professional experience with a related master's degree. Considered an emerging authority.
*Extensive experience with RF design at the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), subsystem, or module level is required.
*Experience with Schematic Capture, RF Block Diagrams Reviews, and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA)
*Extensive experience with troubleshooting design and resolving integration issues is required.
*Experience with the use of microwave test equipment and microwave simulation tools such as network analyzers and spectrum analyzers is required as well as tools such as ADS, CST Microwave Studio, and HFSS.
*Must be eligible to obtain a secret clearance and be able to obtain at least an interim secret level security clearance before starting the position.
Desired skills :
*A Masters Degree in electrical engineering or closely related technical field is desired.
*Active Secret Clearance.
*Significant relevant experience in the defense electronics industry is desired.
*Expertise with RF subsystem and hardware including antennas, transmitters, receivers, microwave components, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, advanced electronic modules, amplifiers, mixers, switches, frequency generation circuits and/or frequency conversion circuits is desired.
*Experience with 3D electromagnetic simulation tools is desired.
*Experience with microelectronics assembly techniques is desired.
*Expertise with technical documentation such as specification, schematic diagram and test data is strongly desired.
*Experience leading successful technical projects is a plus.
