Prince Georges County Correctional Center is actively hiring a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) for a Full-Time position. This role works 8-hour shifts. What you'll do
  • Dispense oral, inhalation, and topical medications to patients in accordance with established protocols.
  • Observe patients for medication reactions or adverse effects and promptly report concerns to nursing staff.
  • Monitor vital signs, calculate medication dosages, and maintain a fully stocked medication cart.
  • Document all administered medications and dosages in the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
  • Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
  • Assist nursing staff and the office manager with maintaining medical inventory and placing supply orders as needed.
  • File charts, MARs, lab reports, and other documents; pull and refile records for discharged inmates.
  • Participate in and support safety initiatives, including OSHA-required trainings and health and safety programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient medical operations.

Qualifications
  • Candidates must have their Medication Aide certification through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent education (high school diploma or GED required).
  • Current CPR certification.
