POSITION: Production Technician

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

DEPARTMENT: Production


POSITION SUMMARY



The person in this position will be responsible for mixing, processing, and packaging of CBD and supplement products while following a strict procedure to produce the highest quality product

possible while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Job Functions

  • Performing production activities related to the mixing, blending, and packaging of CBD infused products and supplements
  • Follow HACCP Plan and ensure quality and safety standards
  • Maintain a safe work environment, actively contributing to continuous improvements.
  • Document all manufacturing activities consistent with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and SQF certification
  • Maintain manufacturing and facility spaces in a clean state.
  • Communicate frequently and effectively with the Manufacturing Manager, Supervisor and Operator peer group.
  • Maintain personal training status and records consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Mix recipes according to BPRs
  • Filter product (pre- or post-Potency testing depending upon batch size)
    • Fill into final product containment using scale for weight measurement
    • Operate filler machine using adjustments as necessary
    • Hand-fill (and weigh) when necessary (smaller orders)
  • Clean (and log when necessary) all machinery and equipment – Melter, filler, hopper,funnels, flasks, jars, etc.
    • Performs maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment – request additional help when needed
    • These and other duties as assigned

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities during a shift
  • Prior high-volume food production/preparation experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to and including 35 lbs. repeatedly throughout a shift
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to bend and squat repeatedly throughout a shift
  • Ability to communicate effectively and proficiently always
  • Ability to inspect and maintain areas and equipment for which responsible.
    • Must be able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work area.

Often use wheeled carts that are loaded with the tools needed to perform their duties. Cleaning and dusting tools include a mop and bucket, broom, scrub brushes, sponges, cleaning chemicals, a dustpan and dusting cloth. Computer and printer are used.


Must Meet the Following Minimum Requirements

  • 18 years of age
  • Have a minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, or relevant professional, technical experience.
  • Regular and on-time attendance is mandated and is an essential function of this position.
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of job responsibilities, including but not limited to good documentation practices, strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedure and Manufacturing Batch Record instructions, equipment and area hygiene and safety, and cGMP adherence.
  • Comprehend written procedures in English language
